I have always consumed fashion, and have always loved watching it and tried my best to be fashionable during school and university, but it was after graduation that I started to think about how I can produce it. I started to look for places in Jordan to learn about fashion design and stumbled on my first ever course: fashion sketching. It was my gateway to the fashion world, opening my eyes to a lot of details about the industry that I wasn’t aware of, and it gave me the motivation to continue in it. When I was first introduced to the term ‘fashion’, I was also introduced to the term ‘sustainable fashion’, and as I dug deeper into the good and bad in the industry, I knew that I wanted to start my path in the right way, which was: the sustainable way. After a diploma in pattern making,numerous online and offline workshops, and during lockdown, I decided to make my first collection “You Are Free”. This collection was made out of one of the most sustainable fabrics, linen, with a statement print and minimal cuts for the modern unique woman.
لطالما أحببتُ الموضة والأزياء، وجذبَتِ انتباهي منذ طفولتي في المدرسة، وحتَّى في الجامعة. فقد كنتُ أحرصُ دائمًا على متابعة آخر الصيحات وعروض الأزياء، لكنَّي لم أعرف قَطُّ أنَّ في وُسعي أن أبتكرَ تصاميمي، وأُسهِمَ في إنتاجها. بدأتُ بالبحث عن وسائلَ لأتعلَّم تصميم الأزياء في الأردنّ. وفي أثناء بحثي، وجدتُ صدفةً مساقًا لتعليم رَسْم الأزياء، فكان بوَّابتي لدخول هذا العالم وتعرُّفه. لم أشعرْ بالتردُّد بتاتًا أنَّ هذا ما عليَّ أن أعملَ فيه، وأنَّه ما يناسبني. في أثناء استكشافي وبحثي في مجال الموضة والتصميم، عرفتُ مفهومًا جديدًا، وهو الموضة المستدامة، وعرفت ما تنتجه صناعة الأزياء والموضة من ضرر، وما يمكن تحسينه بواسطة الموضة المستدامة. لم يكن ممكنًا بعد كلِّ ما تعلَّمته أن أسلكَ طريقًا آخرَ بعيدًا عن الموضة المستدامة، وبدأت بالتعمُّق فيها أكثر وأكثر. أنهيتُ شهادةَ الدبلوم في تصميم النماذج (البترون)، وصناعة الملابس. وبعد حضوري لكمٍّ كبير من الورش الإلكترونيَّة والوجاهيَّة المختلفة، ولا سيَّما في أثناء الحظر الشامل عام ٢٠٢٠م، قرَّرتُ بدءَ مجموعتي الأولى ‘‘أنتِ حرَّة’’ صُنعَتْ باستخدام قماش اللينين المستَدام، وبتصميمي الخاصِّ لنَقشة الطباعة، وبتصاميم عصريَّة اكتملَتْ أوَّلَ مجموعة للمرأة العصريَّة المميَّزة.
Cleopatra pants are pants made out of pearl white linen, are wide-legged pants with a distinct skirt cut on one side, and my signature print was implemented on the hem of the pants and the edges of the skirt. The piece was inspired by the rough asymmetry in nature and after I added the print, it reminded me of the Faro typography and holography. The vision was completed when my model wore the pants and looked like Cleopatra coming to life!
