As a Jordanian graphic and web designer, born and raised in Amman, I’ve always wanted to create my own design-related brand. I started to see inspiration and new opportunities after I had my first daughter and designed my very first customized necklace with the name of my husband, daughter and mine, engraved on it. With the help of my husband/business partner, Ahmad Barakat, an engineer working in the jewelry field for years, we established “JoyJewels”. My role is to gather and collect inspiration to sketch new minimal jewelry pieces and he would manage the production to make sure every piece is perfectly finished. Our mission is to provide jewelry that is affordable, fun and part of every woman’s collection, wanting to invest her money in a jewelry piece that she can wear everyday, whether she’s a student, a full-timer or a mom. In addition, because of the customization we do, one of our goals is to have the JoyJewels brand at the top of people’s minds when it comes to gifting for birthdays, anniversaries, newborns and special occasions. Our team is growing and we officially opened our first physical branch in 2019 and the second in 2020, in Amman.
“أنا مصمِّمةُ جرافيك أردنيَّة، وُلدتُ وترعرعتُ في عمَّان. أردتُ دائمًا إنشاء علامتي التجاريَّة المتعلِّقة بالتصميم. وبعد ولادة ابنتي الأولى، حضرني الإلهام وصمَّمتُ أوَّل علامةٍ مخصَّصةٍ لي، وهي قلادة حُفرَ عليها اسمي واسما زوجي وابنتي. بمساعدة زوجي أحمد بركات، شريكي في العمل، ومهندس يعمل في مجال الحليِّ والجواهر منذ سنوات، أنشأنا ‘‘جوي جويلز’’، حيث يتمثَّل دَوري في الإبداع وجَمْع الإلهام لرَسْم قطعِ جواهرَ صغيرة جديدة، في حين يدير هو الإنتاج للتحقُّق من أنَّ كلَّ قطعةٍ مكتملةٌ تمامًا. مهمَّتنا هي توفير حليٍّ ميسورة التكلفة وجذَّابة تكونُ جزءًا من مجموعةِ كلِّ امرأة سواء كانت طالبة أم أمًّا أم موظَّفةً بدوامٍ كامل. ولأنَّنا نصمِّم حسب الطلب، فإنَّ أحدَ أهدافنا هو جَعْل علامة ‘‘جوي جويلز’’ متموضِعةً في أذهان الناس عندما يتعلَّق الأمر بهدايا المناسبات واحتفالات الذكرى السنويَّة وحديثي الولادة والمناسبات الخاصَّة. فريقنا ينمو، وقمنا بفتح أول فرع لنا في 2019، والثاني في 2020 في عمّان.
